Rigging Jig

You may end up with a bunch of Hybrids the same size and may want to rig them all to change leader weights, length etc or you're just fishing an important day or tourney.

Here is a quick way of rigging a bunch of Hybrids. This system can also be applied to rigging skirted lures.
Don't forget to check them when you're done.

01: Rigging Jig and pieces need to rig
02: Red line shows distance checked for correct measurement of rig.
03. Shows - Nail for hook - Stopper for rig Measurement (from hardware store - Loop at bottom to put hook in lure in correct position.
04: Stopper for correct crimp position.
05: Leader end at front of lure
- Fist thread nylon through lure
- thread crimp on leader
- thread srping on leader
- thread leader end back inside crimp
- push spring back to side of leader tag end
- pull leader to form loop
06: Crimp Nylon
06A: Press near spring 06B: Press at other end, same side as before 06C: Turn over crimp. Note red is on other side. Crimp middle

Nylon leave a liitle end of nylon outside crimp. Idealy the ends of crimp should not be pressed when crimping nylon, howver modern tough nylon leader material can cope if you do.

Crimping rimp wire is different:
Fist crimp side away from spring Picture 6B, then near Spring Picture 6b then turn over and crimp the middle.
Also different. With wire the ends of crimp is pressed and wire end should be levekl with the edge of the crimp.

07: - Thread on crimp for positioning inside the skelleton hook lock - Thread on crimp spring and hook.

Please note: Do not use spring on hook for 4" Hybrids. You can use thin PVC tubing or nothing. But still make small loop for hook.

08: same instructions as Picture 5 and 6.
09: Hook is put around nail and crimp pushed up against the Stopper.
10: Put little piece nylon put inside crimp to pack it out. The crimp size should be the same size or the next size up from the ones used on the hook and snap end.
11: Push crimp to stopper, this also position little piece nylon inside crimp so does not catch inside head.
12: another angle of Picture 11
13: Press crimp make sure is tight up against the stopper.
14: Another angle of picture 13.
15: Another angle of picture 12 and 13.
16: Then finish by pressing crimp as before. If the liitle piece of packing nylon is long it should be trimmed.
17: Put hook in loop, hook point facing up and line up lure so hook goes in correct place, middle of back.
18: Slide the lure down so the crimp inside the lure lock inside skelleton.
19: Hook position correct. Tip of point level with point of tail.
20: Hook position correct. Tip of point level with point of tail.
21: Hook eye position correct whole eye of hook inside lure inside tail.
You should be able to shake lure tail and hook stays in correct position. If it doesn't stay in position then something is wrong, either redo it or put a drop of superglue on the hook eye.
